I don't see how individual therapy can be harmful to relationships. It's a step-by-step problem solving, where in one must first "find himself" in the midst of all his problems, before he faces the problem in the relationship. It's like taking tiny steps and building the relationship [again], piece by piece.
ReplyDeleteI am in agreement with you, which is why I wrote the resposne I did! (Although I do see how individual therapy *could* be harmful to a relationship, if you have a lousy therapist.)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you Kayla. When my husband and I had marital problems a few years back, I've tried doing my own personal therapy by attending meditation and yoga classes, spiritual groups, among other activities to help me relax and fight away the stress that it's causing me. It helped me in a way because I dealt better with our situation.
